Radiated emissions - EN55011/55022

This standard defines the limits of the characteristics of the RF disturbance generated by the equipment in the surrounding area. The objective of the test is to verify that the emission levels from the unit under test are within those consented in the bandwidth between 30 - 1000MHz. You can select one of systems descrived below:

System n°1

DENEB DAN05C Antenna , Digital spectrum analyser Hameg 5014, serial cable to PC and software DENEB DNB5014 Spectrum Analyzer development under MS-Windows®.

System n°2

DENEB DAN05C Antenna, any analog spectrum analyser with X-Y outputs, connectivity to PC by DENEB data acquirement PC card and software Spectrum.exe development under MS-Dos®.

System n°1: Digital Spectrum Analyser System

Download Depliant (english)

The DENEB System of measurement is a valid instrument for EMC measurements, with which your laboratory can be implemented, side by side with the radiated noise of the other close by apparatus. In this way it is possible to work on your hardware in all the various phases of development.

The DENEB DAN05C Antenna can be considered to fall between a SNIFFER (close-up field) and a FULL-Compliance Antenna (remote field). In fact, with the SNIFFER, there is the advantage of seeing all the radiated signals from the E.U.T., but you are not able to see what proportion of these signals remain at a distance. Effectively, to carry out a Full-Compliance measurement, an expensive semi-anechoic chamber or open site is needed.

With the DENEB Antenna, the system is able to carry out an excellent "PRE-Compliance" measurement very close to a "FULL-Compliance" one because the margin of error is 4 - 6 dBm without the need for expensive anechoic chamber (semi-anechoic).

System n°2: Spectrum Analyzer System

DENEB Elettronica has developed a electronic measurement system called "Spectrum Analyzer System" that allows to analyze a signal spectrum in the frequency domain. Throughout a connection between a Spectrum Analyzer HAMEG® o B&K® and the DENEB Data Acquirement PC Card, it's possible to view, to measure, to compare and memorize the sampled spectrum. You must notice that the spectrum analyzer may be anyone.

It's very easy to understand the working way of a such system:

  • The Spectrum Analyzer evaluates analogue the input signal spectrum in frequency domain;
  • on the back, two output signals are present: one is coerent with the evaluated spectrum, the other is a "SAWTOOTH" signal
  • These two signals are carried out by an external connection to the DENEB Data Acquirement PC Card inputs
  • The "SPECTRUM.EXE" works on sampled data to recreate the spectrum, in the frequency domain, of the analogue analyzer input signal on video.

The SPECTRUM.EXE software (Digital Spectrum Analyzer)

On the contrary to other types of software, the SPECTRUM programme enables measurements to be made at distances between the aerial and EUT of 0,5mt (useful in the laboratory in the design stages) and 1mt (ideal for the final measurements in an open environment). The software calculates the spectrum as if it came from a distance of 10-30mt as in the major part of the normatives. Furthermore the K factor of the aerial used is taken into consideration and the user has the option of showing the mask of the normative on the display as a comparison.
The amplitude and frequency measurements can be carried out by simply moving the trace with the mouse cursor.
It is possible to show 5 simultaneous traces on the display:
    • Track A: Real-time sample of the signal.
    • Track B: Previously memorized signal.
    • Track C: MaxHold of track A.
    • x-Track B:Comparison between tracks A or C and track B (zeroing of the background noise).
    • Reference Normative.

All the tracks can be memorized on disk, exported in bitmap form and printed with a final report of the measurements, to be used as a CE certificate to be included with the EUT.
